Amanda Writes : Maddilyn’s Turning 4

Wow, I can’t believe that my firstborn child is turning 4 years old today.

Cue all of the sad, crying emoji’s!

It just doesn’t even seem possible that this little girl of mine is already 4 years old. How has this time passed so quickly? Now I’m not usually very emotional at birthdays, every year so far I’ve been so excited for what the next year will bring,

but this year just seems different to me. I think because she has grown up so much this past year that it intimidates me a little to think of where she’ll be a year from now.

Don’t worry, I’ll pull my mommy emotions together! Just give me a minute!

Ok! I’m better now!

This little girl, who is not so little, has such a huge heart. Despite all the sassy-ness that comes at the age of three, at the end of the day she is such a caring spirit. She always takes it upon herself to sing to her sister when she’s upset (because her sister loves being sung to) and will give her a stuffed animal to cuddle with if she’s having a particularly hard time. She is constantly making us sweet concoctions in her play kitchen and always wants to help in the real one. She has recently become interesting in all things that mommy does around the house and wants to lend a hand. She also cares for her friends deeply, can’t wait to see them, and is sad when they have to go home. This now 4 year old girl is always ready with a hug and kiss at the drop of a hat and it’s one of the most wonderful feelings being loved by her!

As much as it might sadden me right now to think about my girl growing up, I honestly can’t wait to see what this next year will bring. She is already so smart and inquisitive, always wanting to know the Who, What, Where, When, and of course the Why’s of every topic. She already astounds me with how much information she has retained at this young age and can only hope that we can forever encourage her to explore and learn.

All in all, I’m looking forward to celebrating this beautiful girl today at her Dino’s & Donuts party….because she’s just that cool and can name more dinosaurs than I even knew existed!

We love you so much cutie! We hope your birthday is as magical and wonderful as you deserve!

I’ll post all about her party and the DIY decorations that I did to add those special touches! So be on the lookout!
